School History
On a proposal by Khun Kongritsuksagon, the provincial education inspector at the time, the government named the school Sura Nari Witthaya School in 1934. The name was inhonour of the heroic deeds of Thao Suranaree, the heroine of Nakhon Ratchasima. In 1954,the school was moved to the present location which covers an area of 21 ½ acres. In the same year, the school was entrusted to be the first formal comprehensive school highlighting academic and vocational education. With its great success, the school then became the original model for the new education system which the General Education Department later introduced, and has since achieved noteworthy development of the secondary level curriculum. Sura Nari Witthaya School provides education in the lower and upper secondary levels. |
